Happy New Year! A new year needs a new stitching plan. The end of the year is busy, so I've been letting things percolate in my brain a bit before I get serious about writing out my goals for the new year. The year that was 2024 was one of my better sewing years. It's a bit daunting to think about how to improve my performance for the new year. But if I don't plan, I don't achieve. It also helps if I look at my goals more than once after I write them. Thankfully, Yvonne ...

We did finally get our autumn temps, the really cold stuff arrives on Monday. We've not had to turn the heat on so far, but that will probably change soon. My Guy took Friday off and we went on an adventure. We didn't get home till late, but thankfully there was still enough time to get some stitching in before bedtime.

Is it really November? October seemed to just speed by. With the holidays coming up, I'm sure it will be January before any of us are ready. Even so, I'm hoping to get a bit more done on my projects before the end of the year.

This is the first weekend I've been home for the entire weekend since mid-September. Our girl's weekend was lots of fun, the drive home from it wasn't. That's the only day I struggled to get in my 15 minutes, but I still managed to make that happen before I went to bed after our long drive back.

With the end of September, also comes the end of the third quarter of 2024. Just three months left in the year! It's a good time to look over what the plan was for this year to see if there are any goals that need some attention. Quilting Jetgirl has a 2024 3rd Quarter Goal review linky party to encourage us to do just that.
We had a family wedding to attend this weekend. It's been awhile since we've seen My Guy's family. It was nice to catch up with everyone. It's always a challenge to get my stitching in when we have events like this.

Lower temps and lower humidity made for a much more pleasant week. But it's still summer here, true autumn weather is several weeks off for us. It's still much nicer in my sewing room in the afternoon then it is outside. Still easy to maintain my stitching time streak last week.

We finally got a break in the heat this weekend. Friday was still pretty sultry, but by evening you could feel a cooler breeze blowing. It was chilly enough Saturday for a sweater when we went out for breakfast. It will heat up again, but I'm going to enjoy the chill for as long as we have it.
The heat has been a really good reason to hang out in my sewing room. Makes it easier to keep up with my 15 minute stitching commitment.

- 15 minute days/Aug = 31/31 days ...
It's the last Sunday in August. Why does it seem like time speeds up as we get closer to the end of the year? It seems the August went so quickly. There is still one full week left, so it's not completely gone, but boy is it close!
It was another good week to find time to stitch.

Another week gone already? It feels like just yesterday I wrote the week 32 post and now it's time for week 33. It wasn't the best week on the stitching front. My shoulders are not happy. I've been on Aleve and hot pads for several days this week. It's getting better, but I have to watch my computer and stitching time to allow things to heal.

We had a major cold front hit Friday. Going from the mid 90's at lunch to the mid 70's by dinner was quite the shock. Unfortunately by Saturday lunch, my sinuses decided they didn't like the cooler weather. Not got much done on Saturday, but I got in my 15 minutes. Thankfully I was more productive earlier in the week.

It's been hot with a few days this week also being insanely humid. The heat alerts have been pretty consistent for the last week or so. The only safe thing to do in the afternoon is sew, so that's pretty much what I've done.

It's been another pretty chill week, inside at least. It's been pretty warm outside. Lots of opportunities to sit and stitch this week.

- 15 minute days/2024 = 209/209 days

It cooled off for the weekend, but it was mostly cloudy and a bit rainy over both days. It was nice weather to hang out in the sewing room. Who am I kidding, I'd say any weather is a good time to be in the sewing room, except maybe during severe thunderstorms.
It's been a pretty chill week. Not much going on, which I was more than ready for. Being chill meant another good week of stitching time.

I've felt off kilter all week. Getting home from Texas on Monday afternoon seems to have thrown both My Guy and I off on where we are in the week. Saturday seemed to be a reset day. Hopefully next week will feel more normal.
Even though there were a couple of days I wasn't sure if it was Tuesday or Wednesday, I still met my stitching goals.

The end of June marks the end of the 2nd quarter for 2024. It's a good time to check in how I'm doing on my quilting ambitions (goals) for the year. My quilting goals are much like my work goals used to be. I'd write up the goals at the beginning of the year and then forget about them. At work, my supervisor would schedule a midyear goal review, I'd look at them just before the meeting and inevitably there would be one or two goals I'd forgotten about completely. My quilting goals are pretty ...
read moreThere are 52 weeks in a year, so week 26 means we are half way done with the year. July starts on Monday. I'm not really ready to accept that the year is half over, but the calendar doesn't lie. At least the first half of my year has been pretty good in terms of getting in my stitching time each day.
